Bio: Actor|Observer is a five-piece (formerly four-piece) post-hardcore band from Boston, Massachusetts that originated in the seacoast woods of New Hampshire in 2010. Drawing influence from the New England hardcore family with whom they grew up, guitarists, vocalists, and cousins Greg Marquis and Alex Paul formed A|O with drummer Dan Bob Goterch and bassist Brett Colangelo to perpetuate core values of passion, honesty, integrity, and community within the music scene. Just recently, they added a fifth member, Ryan Holman of Do No Harm, who now plays guitar while Marquis mans the mic full time.
A|O released their debut album "The Carbon Date EP" in the summer of 2011 and have since performed all over New England, opening for various major acts such as Vanna, The Chariot, Defeater, The Greenery, Therefore I Am, Man Overboard, The Venetia Fair, and more. Last summer, their efforts earned them a spot on the Massachusetts date of the 2012 Vans Warped Tour, as winners of the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands competition. Their new EP "Circular Mill," released August 2nd 2013, was produced by So.i.Heard recording and Jeremy Comitas (Senses Fail, Four Year Strong, Chiodos) and mastered by John Naclerio of Nada Recording (Brand New, My Chemical Romance, Bayside). The result is a curious mix of influences ranging from Minus The Bear to Glassjaw, but landing somewhere in the realm of bands like Thrice and Alexisonfire. Needless to say, this band pours their heart into their craft and everything they do, always on their own terms and never holding back--an attitude that resonates with their ever-growing fanbase.
