1975 - Peter Gabriel announced he was leaving Genesis. The group auditioned more than 400 potential replacements before deciding that their drummer, Phil Collins, could be the lead singer.
1992 - Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love became the proud parents of a baby girl, Frances Bean Cobain.
1995 - Security guards carried Courtney Love offstage after she began fighting with Hole fans because they weren't cheering loud enough during the last night of the Lollapalooza tour in Mountain View, CA.
1999 - Blues Traveler’s Bobby Sheehan died of a heroin overdose. He was 31 years old.
2001 - The remaining dates of Foo Fighters European tour was cancelled when drummer Taylor Hawkins was admitted to a hospital.
